Rialto no se toca

An angry lion to let the city council know that the Rialto fishmongers and shopkeepers won't let the wholesale fish market (currently at the Tronchetto) be moved to a "terraferma" warehouse for some alleged economic imperatives. If taken, this decision would mean the beginning of the end for the Rialto Market.

Well moving the market is the dumbest idea EVER! DUHHH- Why would they even consider such a thing? - "let's move entire Venice inland a bit so we can drive to the warehouse market"...

I'm pretty sure that the idea of moving the market has fortunately been ruled out. Don't know if it might come back from the dead at some point. I hope not.

The Rialto fish market is part of the very fabric of the city - what insanity to even consider the idea!

I agree—that idea is molto molto stupido! Hope Sig. Nonloso is correct. (They moved the Fulton Fish Market from its spot at the tip of Manhattan, and they moved Les Halles too—and I still miss them both, rats and all!)
