How many statues of real people are there in public places in Venice? More than I thought: Goldoni, Garibaldi (and Zolli), Paleocapa, Sarpi, Tommaseo, Victor Emmanuel II and Colleoni, and a few more in the Giardini Pubblici - Carducci, Penzo, Querini, Selvatico, and Wagner. There is also a bust of Dante on the wall of the Arsenal. Then there is 'La Partigiana', but 'she' is symbolic, rather than real. That's all I can think of.

"The world is a beautiful book, but of little use to him who cannot read it." I like the quote. Sometimes it seems like many people are funtionally illiterate. I admit I forget how to read sometimes.

Or proofread, jeff! :-)
I have emailed a few typos myself, of course. Nobody's prefect!
