I believe the photo is taken from the north gate into the garden of Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti. At the far right edge of the church you can just make out the new "temporary" construction tower to access renovation on the roof of Santo Stefano.
This was one of our favorite resting places in Venice. The Jasmine in the garden was out and the fragrance was intoxicating. We had left snow, ice and freezing temperatures behind. What a great angle.

What a gorgeous day this was!
Isn't that gate a school or something like that? Walking past it, I always thought it was a really pretty garden area.
A glorious day, much nicer than that recent dank fog!
