Looks familiar

You may think that you have seen this figure on "Othello's House", looking over the Rio di Santa Margherita near Campo dei Carmini, but you'd be wrong. It's in the courtyard of the Palazzo Barbaro. The work is attributed to Antonio Rizzo.

I've been enjoying your photos immensely. Venice is a city I've had the pleasure of visiting only twice in my life so far, but that was enough for the wonderful city to secure a glowing place of honor in my memory and in my imagination.

I wrote a little ode to the city, which you may read (and hear, if you follow the link there) at my site, here.

I'm glad somebody likes a challenge, Anonymous! I had no offers for the two most recent Madonna and Child statues.
I have a couple more photos from the courtyard I'd like to post, then I'll see what I can do. It can be tricky to get the balance right. There are some photos I have that you would not recognise unless you lived right there, and others that are just too easy.

These days, I'm okay with too easy. :~} Meanwhile, I'd love to see more of this beautiful palazzo too.
