Nice photo. I don't like the fact that you blurred the street sign -- that just encourages the idea that the point of these pictures is "find the location."
An iconic image. Berkeley has a popular Italian restaurant called Venezia that has a real clothesline with real clothes as part of the decor. They change the hanging clothes according to the season.
That's Ponte San Daniel across the canal that seems to be known only as Rielo. It's a place I had to find some years ago, as it was a photo in one of my guide books. There was washing in the photo, and there was washing there when I found it. Just behind Pierre was what I believe to be the lowest sotoportego in Venice. Unfortunately, the nizioletto is so worn it is unreadable.
It's Ponte San Daniel on the venicexplorer map, but Ponte Rielo on the nizioletto, which I would take to be definitive. It's in Castello, by the way. There's another bridge called S. Daniel across the same canal (but named Rio de S. Daniel on the explorer map) to the north of Ponte Rielo. Confused? I know I am!
We agree, Bert, It's not the whole point of the VDPs, but it adds to the interest, especially when we can manage it from memory rather than any other sources, to identify the location, as well as admire the photo!

Looks perfect to me.
Real life Venice, yes!
It must have been Saturday, laundry day, non? Fun to see the clothes lines!
Perfect!
What a great photo this is!

daily life in venice. even the most mundane of chores: laundry and grocery shopping, seems like a magical experience.
OMG! This is true....I thought that only in movies I can see something like this:) cool!
As Bert says: There's always someone wearing red (in this case, the only someone in the shot)!

"Find the location" may not be the point of these pictures, but it adds to the fun for some of us, I think.
Families on both ends of the line must be good friends.
I love being able to "find the location" - fabulous photo, I will definitely look up this one when I next visit Venice!
