Your photography is wonderful! My wife and I were in Venice for only 1 day, but we'll always cherish that day. Looking at your blog each day is like visiting again. Thank you very much!
Those words remind me of that Diana Ross song, "Upside Down." That inspired photo reminds me of how I felt the first time I walked around Venice: totally turned around! Speaking of which—is this place anywhere near the Bacareto da Lele that you showed us a while back?
Well done Alexa! I'ts really Diana Ross' song "Upside Down" in Italian! Great! It was the first riddle. But about the location, no, it is not. Maybe Bert will find out. (but I can help saying that you have stayed in an apartment not far from here).
Of course! It's just down the fondamenta from that apartment. And you must have been standing by the gondola landing across the rio when you took the picture. I'm sure Bert would get it.
Well, you have too high an opinion of me, Alex. I looked everywhere I could think of, but I could not find a railing like the one in Pierre's photo. But, with the clue that you had stayed nearby, I found it immediately.
Is it near the wonderful Nico Gelateria? I see an ice cream cone on the window and "Nico" on the boat. I start my day with your photos. Thank you very much! Jeannie

Welcome back! We've missed you.
You have me spinning .. which way is up, which is down? Does it matter? Cool photo!
So good to have you back - a lovely sharp winter image - Bravo!

Haha. This image has me wondering if there even is an "up". Wonderful.
Very fun. I still haven't figured it out...
Love this!
Ben fatto!
And is the poem yours as well as the upside-down photo?
As always --- thank you for Venice.

It took my inability to decipher the name of the boat to realise what you had done with this picture - then I saw the side-walk signage. Well done.

Pierre,
You had me holding my laptop 'upside down' this morning cos I just had to make sure I wasn't going mad :-)
Still hoping to be in Venice on the 23rd, if BAA & BA will let me :-(
