Shapes
The catalogue of forms is endless: until every shape has found its city, new cities will continue to be born. When the forms exhaust their variety and come apart, the end of cities begins. Italo Calvino
I know exactly where this is, Pierre—just outside the Rialto market. If you walk straight ahead, then peer around to the right, you'll see the bridge right there. And that big white building across the canal is the Fondaco dei Tedeschi. Can't remember what that open area through the arcades is called, but you showed it to us back on Dec. 5, when the whole thing was under water. Nice shot! (Long lens, yes?)

I believe it's called the Erbaria, Alexa.
Love the framing and repeated pattern of arches.
For once I know exactly where this is as I was right there at 8am today!!!!!

And Vasari said design is the basis of all art. He also said Nature is the origin of art. Art, and forms, are infinite, so cities will never end.
Merry Christmas, everyone, and think of peace.
