Ah! The wooden walkways are up. What a bizarre phenomenon that is. It's fabulous that Venice has lived through it for centuries.

Just as I remember it: the flooded piazza (and piazzetta), the people headed to the campanile on the passarelle, and Palladio's beautiful San Giorgio Maggiore beyond—so beautiful!

This year might be my first experience with Aqua Alto..I've been 5 different times...but have yet to walk on the wooden walkways...25 days and counting 'till my arrival - HL, NYC
