Meeting Place

Campo Santa Margherita is one of the most animated places in Venice. Day and night, young people, students and tourists like to gather here to take some rest, meet people and have a drink, either in one of the many bars of the campo or more casually sitting on the ground as young people of all countries like to do.

Students are on holiday in Perth fromt today and there will be many places around this city that look just like this, too.

This place is perfect for a fisheye shot, Pierre! I love it when I find a new university grad celebrating with family and friends here in the campo, and they're all chanting "Dottore, dottore . . ." and I won't finish the rest. :~}

Can you PLEASE abandon that wretched fish-eye lens (new toy?) and go back to giving us your excellent, well-observed, atmospheric photographs. Please

Unlike Alexsis, I find the image with that lense quite disturbing, wierd and out of the world, an image of a campo that I remember very differently ... and they say that the camera never lies!!

The fisheye lense is a tool in the hand of the artist - when used in teh right context it enhances the pictures. I like what you do, Pierre

I commented on the fish-eye lens a while ago.

Pierre, only "new" in the sense of my first ever comment. I have been following your blog, and often tweeting links to pictures which I particularly liked, for, oh, well over a year.

Thank you for the Tweets some of my pictures Londiniensis! It's apreciated.
And yes my wide angle (8mm, which corresponds to a 12 mm with a digital reflex camera) is indeed a new toy! Sometimes useful in narrow spaces, but that I will from now on use with moderation!
