Bacino Orseolo
Rigt near Piazza San Marco, past the Procuratie Vecchie, this large artificial pool is one of the main locations where gondolas are parked at night. A very busy place in the morning, when tourists begin to rush in for a gondola trip.
I always wonder how they manage to maneuver around each other without any mishaps—but now I notice the bumpers hanging over the sides of the gondolas. Guess they're not taking any chances!

Sure looks busy.
One of the most attractive traffic jams I can imagine. ;)
A new take on a traffic jam. I love it!

These fellows, and the bus drivers on the Amalfi Coast, deserve medals!
Oh, the word verification I had to enter is a greeting from the north of Italy, I do believe: 'mandi'.
And overlooked by one of the best B&B in the world (not mine, honest)
Rob
Looks like a traffic jam of a very special kind.
A traffic jam.
