Water Entrance
Most of the "water entrances" in Venice connect to a wharehouse, the "ground level" of a palace. This water entrance, just opens on a garden, old, solitary and deserted garden, like a small piece of jungle in the heart of the city.
I would love to be able to rehabilitate that garden and fill it with my friends and family! A garden in Venice is a rare thing—what a shame to let this one go. Great shot, Pierre.
I'd love to get on the other side of that gate, the view from there (not to mention what one would see inside the garden) would be pretty interesting, I think...
Beautiful. I just picked up a new book by John Dixon Hunt called 'The Venetian Garden City'. So many wonderful, unexpected green spaces in this city, and so many of them are forgotten. I wonder why??

I find it all fascinating! I've been to Italy, but never to Venice so I'd love to see a water entrance someday.

A great entrance - surprised to not see any gondolas or other boats!
There are many hidden sanctuaries like this in Venice! :)
what a wonderful setting for a story.
It's the Rio dei Ognissanti, in case you were wondering.
