Dinner Date

You and me and all of the people
with nothing to do
nothing to lose
and it's you and me and all of the people
and I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you

you and me and all of the people
with nothing to do
nothing to prove
and it's you and me and all of the people
and I don't know why
I can't keep my eyes off of you...

Sandy Skoglund al Palazzo Giovanelli

American artist Sandy Skoglun work is currentely (and until September 13) to be seen at Palazzo Giovanelli, a palace situated on the Grand Canal, not far from the Fondaco dei Turchi, in Santa Croce Sestiere. An interesting dive in the surrealist universe of this Massachusetts born artist.

Greetings from Venice... in Las Vegas

Right! The last picture posted was indeed a Las Vegas interpretation of Piazza San Marco...
And for today : the Grand Canal!
While in Las Vegas, you can imagine that I couldn't resist to go and discover this famous illusion of Venice offered by the Venetian casino... and to have a thought for my dear and faithful visitor Kate while seeing these nice american gondoliere singing "O Sole Mio" (a napolitan song by the way...)

ed meno il cielo che ci guarda da lassu.

Insieme a te, io restero
amore mio, sempre cosi;

Bella Vita

So great to restlessly stride along the little venetian streets all day, looking for wonders... But maybe even better to have a well deserved rest in the sun, on a nice terrace!

John the Beheaded

A little campo, between San Giacomo dell Orio et il Fondaco dei Turchi (Museum of Natural History) almost deserted even in summer. The little church, one of the oldest in the lagoon, is dedicated to San Giovanni Decollato : John the Beheaded.

Grand Canal

What is real is not the external form, but the essence of things... it is impossible for anyone to express anything essentially real by imitating its exterior surface.
