Grand Canal
What is real is not the external form, but the essence of things... it is impossible for anyone to express anything essentially real by imitating its exterior surface.
I started following your blog last week when I was doing research for my fantasy novel, which is set in a city based very closely on Venice. As both a writer and someone interested in photography, I found your pictures very helpful! It is great to have visuals nearby when I write, especially since I am writing from the viewpoint of a native Venetian.
One question though: do you know any other good blogs/sites that provide many photos on Venice? I would like expand my research, and any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for sharing all your photos. Please keep up the good work!
Just found your blog. I'm in love with Venice. I love this picture, it's amazing how you still catch the landscape through the blind. I also like Brancusi. I looked at your profile and I am very impressed you like Lluis Llach!
I have looked at city many photo blogs. You know about Paris Daily Photo. I think yours is next best blog. Of course, my opinion is not fair because I love Paris and Venice!

Fantastic!!
Love it. Very often we really do need to stop and try to see the things around us in a new and different way. Very nice shot. Makes us work a bit.

An unusual and very beautiful composition! Beautiful quotation too.
Amazing! Almost has an impressionistic quality. If you squint it looks like a Monet.
Wonderful perspective and effect from the beads. Bravo!
