If a shirt falls into the canal, do you know who owns it? Maybe you won't want it anymore?

This is a beautiful sight, a work of art it it's self, so bright the colours.

Jeff -- LOL. If it falls in the canal it gets scooped up by a passing boat. Ciao, shirt!

Pierre -- I've always wondered: Since these lines run between houses on either side of the canal, do the people in the two houses politely take turns using the line, or is it whoever gets there first gets it? And what would stop the person on one side from stealing the designer shirt of the person on the other side? This is actually a pretty complicated arrangement, isn't it?

In fact, Alexa, lines run between two houses, that's right; but they are not shared. You have your own line, starting at your own window and attached to the opposite wall. Same thing for the people opposite. So you don't have to share your line. Easier like that!
And thanks again to all my visitors and to those of you who leave so nice messages ;-)

It's funny how laundry can be very decorative in some places, like here.
