Chiesa dei Gesuati

On the banks of the Dorsoduro Sestiere (le Zaterre) Santa Maria del Rosario, also called la Chiesa dei Gesuati, has been built in 1724 by Giorgio Massari for the Dominican Order. It's in particular famous for its ceiling painted by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.

Ah, this is about 100 m from my hotel. I will stop in and say 'buongiorno' to Tiepolo!

Thanks, Pierre -- I've only ever seen this beautiful church from close up!
Jeff -- and you're even staying in my old "neighborhood"! Getting greener and greener here.

Love your photographs - so evocative. I had a week in Venice and your blog brings it all back.

Hi to all, and thanks for your so nice messages. Hi Irina, good question, but no, I've never made pics in HDR; but this technique is really interesting... I'm gonna try one of these days.
