Campo Zanipolo

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The large and light campo Zanipolo, in the Castello Sestiere, is a pleasant place to stop a while and have a deserved drink or ice cream on one of the many terraces, admiring San Giovanni et Paolo church, the Scuola Grande di San Marco, and the beautiful Bartolomeo Colleoni statue, made in the 15th century by Andrea Verrochio.

This is such a splendid spot, all the comings and goings and the profoundly masculine statue of Colleoni astride his horse. In a few weeks, I, too, will be walking here and sipping a bibite.

Your site is beautiful.

A wise visitor will bypass the chairs in the campo, cross that bridge in the background, and go into the Osteria immediately on the left, 'Al Ponte', and order ombra and a cicchetto from their extensive range..
